Dementia – Residential Settings

“It feels like you bring along a lovely present every week – I just help them unwrap it”

Activities Co-ordinator

We offer bespoke creative sound- and music-making for engagement sessions in several residential settings for people living with dementia throughout Brighton and Hove.

We:

  • bring two highly-experienced musician facilitators, trained in offering dementia-friendly music-making
  • sing familiar repertoire together
  • explore inclusive, accessible instruments together
  • liaise closely with staff to ensure the best possible interactions
  • do one-to-one work with individuals, using music as a relational communication tool
  • include gentle movement and body work in our sessions
  • use music-making as a way to encourage individuals to share their experiences with each other as a group, and encourage a culture of play.
